Bliss: Hacker failed to retrieve any sensitive information

Released on = April 5, 2005, 9:00 am

Press Release Author = M

Industry = Entertainment

Press Release Summary = After a long ordeal, record label Bliss Entertainment was finally able to put their websites back online.

Press Release Body = Approximately three weeks ago, Bliss Entertainment’s main website was attacked by a hacker who was seeking to retrieve sensitive customer information.

“It’s simple,” stated Russ Castella, president of the record label, “he or she tried to find credit card numbers of those who have made a purchase on our site only realizing that we do not store that information anywhere. Then, after unsuccessfully attempting to ‘rewire’ the future payments, the hacker decided to shut it down completely.”

The hacker somehow managed to transfer the domain on a different name to a remote area in Germany. However, Bliss was able to intercept it back before the transfer completed.

The company has upgraded their systems including their database protection to prevent any future attacks and the company ensures customer information protection.

Russ Castella also commented about a previous article last week which informed about Bliss’ missing bank amounts. He assured that it is not connected to the hacker incident and it merely because of improper documented bank transactions.
