Delphian School Choir Qualifies for State Choir ChampionshipsReleased on = April 20, 2005, 8:46 pm Press Release Author = The Delphian School Industry = Education Press Release Summary = The Delphian School Concert Choir sang in the District 3 High School Choir Festival in Clatskanie, achieving an average score of 89.3 qualifying for the Championships for the 10th consecutive year. Press Release Body = The Festival was held on April 1 at the Clatskanie High School auditorium. The Delphian School Concert Choir performed along with ten other choirs from northwest Oregon. The adjudicators were Dr. Shannon Chase from the University of Oregon, Doree Jarboe from Grant High School in Portland and Roberta Jackson, conductor of the Portland Symphonic Girls Choir. The purpose of these festivals, held throughout the state this time of year, is to give the choirs an opportunity to perform for their peers in the other schools, get professional critiques and attend clinics held by the adjudicators. It also provides an opportunity to attain the necessary standard to compete at the State Choir Championships held at George Fox University on May 6th and 7th. Dr. Shannon Chase from University of Oregon commenting on The Delphian School Concert Choir: "Very professional poise and attire; excellent concentration in performance. Wonderful energetic singing. You are a fabulous group of singers." Director of the Delphian School Choir, Craig Bader, had this to say, “We performed our songs very well, clearly the best performance of the year.” The Delphian
