Glasgow, Scotland, July 14, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Described by Scottish Press as “one of the finest songwriters and performers of his time” Kevin McDermott kicks off this series of gigs at Livingston's Howden Park Centre, 19th July, then to The Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock on 25th July, to coincide with the Commonwealth Games 2014 Flotilla dropping anchor.

Singer-Songwriter, Kevin McDermott (Kevin McDermott Orchestra) takes to the Howden Park Centre stage with full band, promising an evening of his rich catalogue of highly acclaimed songs spanning 25 years that ‘The List’ describe as being 'melodically joyous and lyrically delicious.'

Renowned for the quality of his writing and his skill as a performer, Dylan and Lennon-esque have been readily to hand and used as comparison, with Neil Young thrown in for good measure.

From a nascent 'Suffocation Blues' to ‘Mother Nature’s Kitchen’ through 8 albums to ‘Wise to the Fade,’ Kevin has consistently delivered perfectly crafted songs that MTV described as 'Teenage Fanclub melody with Radiohead tension' .

Non-stop touring through the 80's and 90's, sharing the stage with some of the best known names in the music industry, presented the opportunity to reach a wider audience and it paid off. From that time until now the crowd still respond with immense loyalty and solid devotion to the music.

Kevin is currently compiling material for an album release in 2014 and is 'Artist in Residence' with the artist-led project 'Absent Voices', which tells the story of Greenock's sugar industry through the talents of a number of creative individuals working within the community.

Intelligence and wit permeate KMO's live performance. That, coupled with the superbly crafted music, creates a signature style that will make this event memorable.

Catch his impressive roster of great music wherever you can.

Kevin has every right to be proud of his songbook. As Mojo Magazine said it's “worth getting evangelical about.”
