LONDON, August 04, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- In the past few years, London has gone beer crazy and this summer the city will be hosting a new festival called London Beer City. The first London Beer City will take place from 9th to 16th August, featuring dozens of events at the capital's pubs, bars and breweries. Most of London's best breweries will be hosting one-off events, with special openings and tours, as well as meet the brewer and tap takeover events in local pubs. London has more than 50 microbreweries, who between them serve up some of the tastiest, strangest and most exciting ales, lagers and stouts around. Breweries can be found all over the city, from Hoxton and Camden to Brixton and Battersea. Among the participants at London Beer City are Camden Town Brewery, who will serve a beer dinner at Caravan in King's Cross and host an American day at the brewery's base. Fourpure, whose beer is served in Michel Roux Jr's restaurants, will be hosting an open evening at their brewery in Bermondsey on Wednesday 13th August, with the tap-room bar open and tours of the brewery on offer. Beers from a select group of other London brewers including Windsor and Eton and Woolwich's Hop Stuff will also be available.
Another highlight of London Beer City is the return of the London Craft Beer Festival, which offers the chance to sample the work of some of the world's best breweries, including Britain's Thornbridge and Magic Rock s well as American trailblazers Sierra Nevada and Founder's.
