Punchdrunk, who specialise in site-specific immersive theatre that takes place around the audience bringing them directly into the story, will be presenting Against Captain's Orders: A Journey Into The Uncharted at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich from 28th March to August 2015. Against Captain's Orders invites audiences to join an exciting world of maritime history and adventure aimed at 6-12 year olds and their families. It will take audience members on the adventure of a lifetime through the National Maritime Museum's extraordinary collection of maritime artefacts. This theatrical journey through the museum will provide an experience the like of which has never been seen before. Punchdrunk have previously aimed their productions at adults, and in the process of transformed the unusual environment in which the performances take place with stunning set design and a truly immersive experience. Previous Punchdrunk plays have taken place in abandoned railway tunnels, overgrown Victorian gardens, warehouses and office buildings. With costume, plot and performance they will transform the National Maritime Museum.

Visitors will become members of a real life crew and be asked to work together to navigate their way through this adventurous exhibition. Tickets go on sale to the general public on 24 September.
