Press Release Body = Due to the extraordinary amount of publicity being generated by “Elvis”, the new miniseries to be broadcast by CBS TV this weekend, and the planned TV advertisements to encourage people to visit Graceland, the most famous mansion in Memphis, the 28TH Anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death may well set a precedent. Generally only those dates regarded as important anniversaries like the 10TH, 20TH, 25TH, and 30TH, would be regarded as notable, but in Elvis’s case the accepted rules just do not apply. Therefore it is a safe bet that the world’s media will be in Memphis this summer to report on the vast numbers of Elvis fans who will be gathered there to commemorate the Annual event which is fast becoming an unofficial “Elvis Presley Day” in it’s own right.
