MADRINAS© Welcomes New President, Miriam Muléy

New York, NY, May 27, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Madrinas© would like to welcome Miriam Muléy, Author, CEO and Founder of The 85% Niche, to the role of President of Madrinas, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose vision is to support the leadership development and career advancement of Latinas in corporate. This change is effective May, 2015. “I am honored to follow the amazing women and role models who were my predecessors as presidents of Madrinas,” states Muléy. “As I begin my tenure, I want to see Madrinas remain focused on sharing insights and creating innovative solutions that will drive sustainable change for the advancement of Latina women and business,” she continues.

Miriam’s background as an executive in Fortune 100 companies and current marketing, diversity and inclusion expertise as an entrepreneur are uniquely suited to accelerate the goals of Madrinas. Her company, The 85% Niche, a strategic marketing consultancy, is designed to help companies increase relevance to women and women of color as consumers, employees and entrepreneurs who control 85% or more of all purchase decisions. Her book, The 85% Niche: The Power of Women of All Colors—Latina, Black, and Asian provides a monumental body of work on the power of women and women of color.

Puerto Rican by ancestry, Miriam holds a M.B.A. in Marketing from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. She has 25 years of executive marketing and sales experience at General Motors Corporation as Executive Director for Diversity Marketing & Sales, and at Avon Products, Inc. as General Manager for the Women of Color Business Unit. Miriam has been featured in TEDTalks on the Voices of Women, is an Advisory Board member of Women at NBCU, and is a past national board member of NAWBO.
