New York, NY, May 22, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Beyond The Boroughs National Scholarship Fund (http://www.beyondtheboroughs.com), the public charity founded by former NFL offensive lineman Tutan Reyes, is set to honor Roblé Ali, Celebrity Chef, Judi Friedman, Senior Trial Attorney, US Department of Justice, and Ron Goldstock, NYS Commissioner, Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. This first Annual Benefit and Awards Ceremony will take on June 8, 2015, at the Dream Downtown Hotel in Manhattan, from 6pm-9pm. Attendees include scholarship recipients Amy Pruim of Tulane University and Christian Hernandez of City College of New York, who will also be honored during the night’s festivities. Sponsorship and ticket packages are currently available at Beyond The Boroughs’ official website starting at $300. In staying true to the non-profit’s core mission, proceeds from the dinner will go towards the providing scholarships across the United States to aspiring college students in financial need.

“It’s a great privilege to have such amazing trailblazers dedicate their time and effort to Beyond The Boroughs.” Says Reyes. “I’m glad we’re getting the chance to honor Chef Roblé, Attorney Friedman and Commissioner Goldstock for their hard work and dedication, not only to the charity but for their own individual accomplishments. They inspire the scholars that we aim to assist here at Beyond The Boroughs.”

Beyond the Boroughs was created in 2007 and offers general scholarships for up to $5,000 per year over four years. The charity also provides named scholarships under personal, family or business titles that can help pay for a student’s semester. Fresh off the heels of their recent NFL Draft Fundraiser Event last month, the charity is continuing their fundraising efforts to award the 2015 applicants that applied between January 15 and March 15. Scholarship winners are from all over the country and in many cases, represent first generation college students in their families from inner city communities.

“For these students, the sky is the limit. I’m glad we have a chance to further help them accomplish their goals all while leading by an outstanding example from everyone involved.” Says Reyes.
