About the webinar:
Two important standards apply to the aerospace industry –the AS9100, which was released in 1999 – and the ISO 9001, on which the AS9100 is based. The AS9100 came into existence because it was felt that the ISO 9001 did not cover all of the aspects needed to ensure that safe materials and manufactured goods were acceptable in particular for their aerospace applications. This webinar will explain the ways and extent by which the AS9100 expands over the ISO 9001.

The AS9100, whose aim it was to establish a single Quality Management System (QMS) for use within the aerospace industry, satisfies DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements. Having said this, it has to be borne in mind that the AS9100 is not separate from ISO 9001, but is analogous to it in many ways, such as terms of updates and improvements.

Organizations need to blend the two and align the two to each other if they have to provide a more uniform system for organizations to follow. This streamlines the various QMS systems rather than leaving them fragmented and segmented between the two extant standards. The speaker at this webinar will explain ways by which the 9100 and ISO 9001 standards can be supplemented and tailored to their organizations.
