Jena, Germany, November 17, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- FiLaC® for the treatment of anal fistulas is now also applicable to the treatment of pilonidal cysts - ELVeS Radial™ laser therapy for varicose vein treatment equipped with safe Fusion technology - new LEONARDO® laser usable in different fields of therapy - advanced technology through intense research - laser therapies by biolitec® convince in the treatment areas of phlebology, gynecology, ENT, urology, and thoracic surgery as well.

biolitec®, technology leader for minimally invasive laser therapies, presents its outstanding solution for the treatment of pilonidal cysts at this year"s Medica: Originally developed for the treatment of anal fistulas, FiLaC® is now also applicable to treat pilonidal cysts.

Just as with the treatment of anal fistulas with FiLaC®, a flexible and especially designed laser probe is inserted into the fistula tract of the pilonidal cyst. Through the radiating laser light and a slow retraction, the fistula tissue is precisely closed. The tissue surrounding the fistula tract is not damaged or removed, therefore large wounds which cause a long period of recovery or scarves due to skin flaps can be avoided. This is a significant advantage compared to traditional therapies. That way, patients profit from the FiLaC® laser therapy which helps to avoid incontinence and also spares the healthy tissue. A maximum patient comfort is guaranteed.

ELVeS Radial™, biolitec"s flagship-treatment for varicose veins, also profits from the developments by biolitec®. Through intense years of research, biolitec® has succeeded in its quest to create a unique system in terms of safety and flexibility for the endoluminal treatment of varicose veins, and invented the 2ring™ fiber technology. ELVeS Radial 2ring™ with its 360° radiation splits the power in two phases which leads to an effective closure of the vein. The ELVeS Radial slim™ fiber was designed specifically for the treatment of perforator veins and small saphenous veins, whereas larger veins can be treated with the genuine ELVeS Radial 2ring™ fiber. Due to the differentiated areas of application the ELVeS Radial 2ring™ products by biolitec® are the ideal solution for the treatment of varicose veins.

The passion for innovation is particularly noticeable in biolitec"s unique products. The pioneering LEONARDO® laser is the most versatile medical laser on the market. Since it features two wavelengths, 980 nm and 1470 nm, it can be used in a variety of medical disciplines. Furthermore, this diode laser is the most compact one and can be operated intuitively.

Because of the FUSION® technology by biolitec®, the biolitec® fibers are market leaders in their respective application area. The new FUSION® technology makes the use of biolitec® fibers especially safe during treatments, whether it is a treatment of anal fistulas or pilonidal cysts, varicose veins with ELVeS Radial™, or treatment in the fields of gynecology, ENT, or thoracic surgery. With FUSION®, the silica glass caps are fused to the fibers instead of just glued, so they resist even the highest temperatures and mechanical strains during procedures. That way, a high-quality standard and safety are secured and procedures can be performed in the most precise way, also avoiding side effects.
