Electronic music artist Vusive releases new EP 'Soulseeker'

LONG BEACH, Calif., November 16, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The composer and producer of electronic music known as Vusive has released his new EP record, “Soulseeker.” The EP contains five original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 20 minutes. It has been released on the Ohio-based Grasshopper Juice Records independent music label. Jazzy, classy, stylish and full of groove, “Soulseeker” by Vusive is an electronica soul album that fans of digital music and R 'n' B can all get behind.

Vusive cites as main artistic influences “Hip hop, electronic music, EDM, IDM, indie, jazz, classical,” and proving that he has an open mind, “anything really.” He has also mentioned Flying Lotus, Tokimonsta, Nosaj Thing, Machinedrum, Samiyam, Hudson Mohawke, Onra, and Flume as inspirations in the past.

Vusive's appearance in the independent music underground scene is fairly recent as a producer, having begun digital music production in earnest little more than a year ago. That said, his repertoire is already filling out in short order, as the current EP proves. His knack for clean, precise sound engineering and intuitive songwriting are bringing him (and Grasshopper Juice Records) to prominence both at home in Cincinnati and abroad.

The artist himself has described his sound as “a music project that has stemmed from various backgrounds and influences that has a large focus on improvisation and live instrumentation.”

These backgrounds notably include the classical genre, with which Vusive spent his first years in music. A longtime instrumentalist, Vusive is a violinist with more than 14 years of experience. He is also a musical autodidact, having taught himself to play guitar and drums. With widespread abilities like these, it's no surprise that he is no stranger to the live stage, either.

Vusive describes the creative process of his “Soulseeker” EP as centered around “a dynamic mix of genres ranging from hip hop, jazz, R 'n' B, soul, classical, hardcore/metal, disco, and funk, all induced into an electronic platform that brings a very groovy, and dance-oriented atmosphere.”
