for the growing
popularity of private health insurance is the failure of the NHS.
The ever lengthening
waiting lists, which mean that people are having to wait for
months, and sometimes for years, to receive the medical treatment
that they need, is
one of the primary problems with the NHS, and one of the main reasons
that people
are turning to private medical insurance.
Indeed the statistics
are shocking. In the case of general surgery the shortest
waiting period for an operation is 32 weeks, whilst more than 1,250,000
people are
currently awaiting surgery in the UK.
Private medical
insurance enables you to receive the best possible health care as
soon as you need it. Moreover, you can even chose which hospital
you want to be
treated in, from the list provided to you by your health insurance
provider. On a
private UK health insurance scheme, medical treatments are carried
out at a time
which is convenient to you, and visiting times are much more flexible
than at NHS
hospitals. The quality of accommodation with private health insurance
is much higher
than in NHS hospitals, so that you are made to feel as comfortable
as possible.
It is therefore
possibly unsurprising that when faced with the choice of receiving
the best possible medical care when its needed or waiting for months
to receive
treatment on the NHS, that so many people are opting for the former.
