Zendor Supports Extension of Woolworths' Multi-channel Offer

Released on = June 28, 2005, 1:21 am

Press Release Author = Wendy Bow

Industry = Retail

Press Release Summary = Zendor is helping Woolworths extend its growing multi-channel offer by supporting its new in-store Internet ordering facility.

Press Release Body = Zendor, the distance selling expert, is helping Woolworths extend its growing multi-channel offer by supporting its new in-store Internet ordering facility. The new facility was introduced across all of Woolworths' 824 retail stores by May 2005, following a pilot scheme in October 2004, and enables customers to order an extended range of c650,000 products not normally available in all Woolworths' stores for home delivery.

Whilst large and bulky products will be delivered direct from key suppliers, and Entertainment products fulfilled direct from Entertainment UK, Zendor - Woolworths' fulfilment partner, will process and deliver all orders placed via the in-store Internet for all General Merchandise and in doing so, will help Woolworths to build a stronger, more competitive multi-channel presence.

Zendor's partnership with Woolworths began in September 2004 when Zendor was appointed by the retail giant to fulfil orders placed through the Woolworths' website and catalogue. Since the launch of the new in-store Internet facility last month, Zendor has already experienced an uplift in sales through this channel and is
expecting orders to continue to rise. Zendor has increased staffing levels, to ensure they continue to maintain the exceptional customer service and satisfaction across Woolworths'
multi-channel operation.

Gerry Callanan, Head of Supply Chain Development for Woolworths, comments, "We are expecting that the introduction of the in-store Internet order facility will offer a point of difference that will reflect positively on the Woolworths' brand. It is our
belief that in the long term, serving customers through the integration of our online offer with our extensive store network offers a good growth opportunity, in particular in our smaller stores who will benefit from a much broader product
offering."

In addition, as part of a revamped delivery promise for Woolworths' customers, Zendor has streamlined their home delivery service, so that all orders placed via the in-store Internet, website and catalogue will now offer a fully tracked, guaranteed 3-5 day delivery service.
