On October 15, 2005, Defy This will host the 1st Annual Knockout Parkinson’s benefit at The House of Bluesâ Orlando located at DOWNTOWN DISNEYâ West Side. Hosted by Maryum “May May” Ali, the evening’s entertainment will highlight dynamic performances by the multi-talented Brian McKnight and down home The Blues Brothers.

A special Keynote Address will be delivered by Jackie Kallen. Special guests include the 2006 DEFY Calendar Heroes including Joe Frazier, Davis Phinney, Bill Goss, Brett Massingham and many others.

Defy This and Defy Gear ™ was launched in 2005 by Gina Reilly and Tony Scelta. A major portion of sale proceeds of Defy Gear merchandise is donated to charity. Defy This publishes an annual calendar that features sports heroes and celebrities who
have had personal experiences with life threatening illnesses.

This event celebrates those heroes and 100% of the proceeds from this will be donated to various health and research related non-profit organizations including The Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY that is scheduled to open in November, 2005, and Y.O.P.A, The Young Onset Parkinson’s Association. Y.O.P.A. is a not- for- profit organization composed entirely of people dealing with Parkinson’s disease who, from its worldwide membership to its Board of Directors, volunteer to serve the young-onset community.
