Summary = The African Premier Business Resort-TINAPA has been described
as a viable project whose conceptualization by a dynamic and visionary
Nigerian will transform the economic fortunes of the nation when

President Olusegun Obansanjo who stated this while being conducted
round the project site by the State Governor Mr. Donald Duke, commended
the dreams and visions of governor Duke, who is today fast transforming
them into reality. Expressing his happiness at what he saw at the
site, the president said the vision of TINAPA is totally in consonance
with the policy thrust of the Federal Government
and called for a public/private sector collaboration to ensure good
driven and management. Obasanjo maintained that TINAPA is a vision
conceived and designed within the Nigerian situation to serve the
Nigerian purpose, expressing confidence that the vision of the laudable
project would be completely actualized within the time frame
and that the project is a good example of what democracy can bring
for the good of the people, The President also commended the private
sector already involved in the project, while calling for more participation
and involvement from those yet to join the train. The chairmen of
TINAPA, Chief Festus Odimegwu .said TINAPA was a clear indication
that idea is more important than natural resources 'and that what
is referred to as TINAPA today is a vision and idea of one man -
Mr. Donald Duke; The managing Director of Julius Berger, the contracting
firm handling the civil works at the site, Mr. George Matt, disclosed
that the project, when completed is a to serve the needs of the
entire West African sub region, adding that it is designed
to be a mix tourism, leisure and trade, and will serve the same
purpose as Dubai. This is a true dream come true to the citizen
of Cross Riverians and Nigerians at large. A new world business
resort named TINAPA is in progress for the unification of nations
and countries in the shores of Calabar, being the first capital
of cross
river state in Nigeria.
