Clan, has been chosen by Don King to rev up sports fanatics everywhere.
The legendary boxing promoter has again included multiple tracks
from U-God's
new release "Mr. Xcitement" (due in stores September 13)
in spots advertising the forthcoming Global Glory: Battle For Pride
And Country event
The fight is scheduled to take place on August 13, 2005 at Chicago's
United Center. Both the event's 30 minute TV Preview and radio advertising
are
currently airing multiple times daily featuring U-God's tunes.
This is not the first time U-God's infectious brand of thrilling
hip hop has been used by King. In May, the marketing guru used U-Gods's
"Mr Xcitement"
to promote the Trinidad - Wright match in Las Vegas. The album was
used exclusively in the 30 minute TV Preview that air multiple times
daily on the
Direct TV/HBO outlets for three weeks leading up to the fight as
well as airing inside the MGM Grand Casino on their in-house cable
system. The match
itself was near the top of all boxing pay-per-view events, proving
that Xcitement was definitely generated. Don King was so pleased
with the
promotional power of the song that he thanked U-God for the music
in the national press conference.
With both men possessing an invaluable ability to command attention
wherever they go and in whatever they do, the marriage of Don King
Productions and
U-God has proven to be perfect one. Fans of both should be sure
to check out the "Don King Speaks To U-God" skit on Mr.
Xcitement to get an additional
dose of the stars. As the man himself would say, "Only In America"!
