Press Release Summary = Ship2Save has signed Integris Metals Corp. to a 1-year deal for its Unit in Transit service.

Press Release Body = Sept 06th, 2005 - Montreal, Quebec

Ship2Save has signed Integris Metals Corp. to a 1-year deal for its Unit in Transit service. The system, built upon Bell Mobility’s Location Based Services (LBS), provides real-time tracking capability that uses this LBS network to locate and than position each mobile asset on Ship2Save’s patented click-enabled maps.

Amninder Singh Director of IT at Ship2Save explains: “Our application enables Integris [Metals Corp.] to track each of its trailers as they are moving from facility to facility across Canada. Bell’s LBS is unique in that it provides superior urban coverage and quicker more responsive tracking capability than standard GPS tracking. The solutions itself, combines GPS, CDMA Network Triangulation and Cell Site Location Technology along with a advanced mapping front-end. It was something that really made sense for Integris”

In fact, because Integris Metals already had a set of existing cellular phones that it distributed to its drivers, the upgrade to LBS was seamless and cost-effective. Furthermore, tracking using mobile phones versus fixed GPS transponders enabled a much more flexible process model.

Ship2Save believes that given sufficient time, the next logical step in further securing many of the transportation activities for Integris Metals is RFID. Mr. Singh adds: “ In the end, the ultimate goal for us at Ship2Save is to build upon the now existing Unit in Transit service Integris has, in order to provide a full fledged RFID infrastructure.”
