Press Release Body = Though she is 76 years of age, Pamela Hunsley said that she was aiming to be the first Australian to sell one million US dollars of advertising space on the internet, in a bid to fulfil her dream of financial independence.

If she succeeds, she will walk away with $1 million US in her bank account.

Pamela Hunsley, of Perth, Western Australia, has launched
pamsmilliondollarhomepage.com towards her goal of being the first Australian to do this, after Alex Tew of Crickdale, UK, launched his million dollar page bid only a few months ago.

On her site, there are 10 000 boxes, the size of each being 10 by 10 pixels. Companies may purchase them at $1 US a pixel. The customers can then place their logo or image on the purchased area, which will link visitors to the companies’ websites.

“Pixel ads are becoming a real force of their own on the internet right now. On my page, the minimum lot size is $100, as any smaller than that, it will be very hard to see the pictures” she explains.

Pamela is retired, but has kept a keen eye on how the internet has evolved over the years. When she saw pixel advertising emerging, she called her son Sebastian, a computer science graduate, to help set up the page. “He’s good at the technical bits” she explains, “so we work as a team to set it up.”

“Some of my friends think that I’m crazy for even giving it a try” she said, “but if I can get a company to purchase a big ad, or many companies for smaller ads, then I’m on my way to prove to them that it can be done.”

“I figured that I must do something that not only helped myself, but also helped out the businesses that I am dealing with at the same time” she explains. “Besides, I believe that everyone should have a worthy goal, which is what life is for”

What is she going to do with the money? She firstly wants to pay off her debts, and then she and her husband Neil plan to holiday in the UK, as she hasn’t been back to her homeland since she emigrated to Australia. Then she and her son Sebastian plans to set up more internet businesses. They said they wanted to help the internet to
provide more value to people and businesses in new ways “yet to be seen”.
