Hip Hops Mikey Jukes Confronts Media Giants

Released on = November 24, 2005, 8:07 am

Press Release Author = Dan Mekia

Industry = Entertainment

Press Release Summary = Mikey Jukes Dares BET and Clear Channel to dispute his claims.

Press Release Body = In a recent interview regarding allegations that Mikey Jukes
was treated unfairly by BET and Clear Channel he said, \"In regards to BET, I was in
conversations with an executive there, whom I will call by name in my documentary.
We exchanged e-mails and phone calls for years, and I pitched an idea for BET to
build their network up by creating an in-house TV host competition. Then one day she
tells me she came up with this great idea, and it was like a smack in the face when
I saw BET\'s New Faces Competition. I mean, when will the madness stop? Will major
networks continue to rip-off guys like me forever? Well I have the solution BET,
stop hiring idiots.\" and Mikey also comments, \"Clear Channel Radio really screwed up
with me. They invited me to film a concert with Mike Jones, Youngbloodz, Ton Loc,
Cuban Link and many other Celebrity Rap Stars, only to turn around and ask for my
tapes and footage back. They claimed they didn\'t have proper copyright clearances.
Well
, after all the hard work I put in for that concert, I feel they need to pay me for
my work. So unless these Rap Artists stand up and address the issue, I still own
their recorded performances that night and it turned out pretty good. Clear Channel
will not comment on this, because they know it was their entire fault. The worst
part is that some of the concert footage leaked online before Clear Channel
switched their story around. If I were Mike Jones or some of those guys I would be
a little more concerned and I would question the radio station about what happened
that night. People could start getting sued around there if the truth comes out. I
think Clear Channel will choose to keep quite about this, it's really pathetic.\"
