Press Release Body =
A UK business owner is using Xmas as an opportunity to grow Xmas trees, rather than
chop them down.

Ray Woods whose Company provides Business Development and PR Support to other
companies, is sending his customers, a Norwegian Spruce sapling for planting.

He told us,
' This year, we will be sending Norwegian Spruce seedlings to our customers, rather
than Xmas cards.

Apparently, the Norwegian Spruce was native to Britain before the ice age and was
re-introduced in the 1500's. It is a quick growing tree and I am told that a mature
tree can provide an important wood, called White Deal.

The idea was suggested to me by Simon Greenfield whose Birmingham Company is
supplying them in early December. They come pre-packed in a shipping tube that
protects the roots.

I thought that it was a great idea. Christmas has become something of an orgy of
destruction - with both the chopping down of Xmas trees and the sending of millions
of cards that only last for a few weeks.

It's great to think that some of these trees could still be here, long after we've
gone.'
