A Guide to Shooting Glasses

Released on = December 17, 2005, 9:44 am

Press Release Author = Shooting Glasses Guide

Industry = Accounting

Press Release Summary = An informational guide about shooting glasses and
prescription shooting glasses.

Press Release Body =
When most shooters think about gear, shooting glasses is usually at the bottom of
the list. Although it may not be the most popular item for shooters; it\'s certainly
on of the most important.

But, when searching for a quality pair of shooting glasses, what factors do you
evaluate so you can purchase the best pair for your individual needs?

Before making your decision, consider evaluating the following components:

.Lens
.Lens Impact Resistance
.Lens UV protection
.Lens Coverage

Let\'s review each one in more detail:

*Lens - A very important feature to consider. For shooting applications,
Polycarbonate is considered one of the best lens material available on the market
today. Polycarbonate is a type of LEXANŽ from G.E., the same material used for
bullet resistant glass in autos.

*Lens Impact Resistance - Lens color, fit, etc. are all important, but they become a
mute point if the lens won\'t properly protect the eye. Look for lens with high
impact resistance ratings.

*Lens UV protection - UV radiation is the low frequency light waves produced by the
sun.
To provide adequate protection, look for shooting glasses that absorb at least 99%
of UV radiation.

*Lens Coverage - A crucial element to consider. It\'s imperative that the lens
adequately cover enough of the eye area to provide proper protection. This is
especially important for the side areas of the eye. Look for lens that wrap around
past the sides of the eye for complete coverage.

*Prescription Lens - Many quality shooting glasses can be made with prescription
(sometimes called RX) lens to suit most shooters needs. Today, lens can even be made
in specialized configurations such as bi-focal views. If you need prescription
shooting glasses, you might want to follow the link at the bottom as we can suggest
an excellent prescription shooting glasses set-up at a great price.
