Press Release Body = "Dasher.D" worm is a new and highly critical threat that exploits a serious Windows vulnerability in Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC). This vulnerability was patched by Microsoft in October 2005 . "Dasher D" backdoor worm particularly targets Windows 2000 systems. It has the potential to infect a large number of computers in a given network.
Three variants of Dasher namely Dasher.A, Dasher.B, Dasher.C have already been discovered. All of them install a software, which tries to infect other vulnerable systems. Eventually some variants of this worm start to log keystrokes and transform the computer into a remotely controlled \"bot\" system.
