Mrs Charters was the lucky winner of this year's Mortgage Refunds Mortgage Free for a Year competition run by cash-back mortgage broking company, Mortgage Refunds.
Every year, Mortgage Refunds offers someone the experience of having their mortgage paid by the company for a year.
Mortgage Refunds' Managing Director, Jason King, says that entry is open to anyone.
"It's unlimited. We look for submissions from all over Australia."
All contestants have to do is tell Mortgage Refunds why they deserve to be mortgage free for a year. Entries can also be lodged on behalf of other people, so if someone you know would benefit, you can enter on their behalf.
Mr King says that Mortgage Refunds chooses a winner by deciding who is most in need of relief from their mortgage payments.

The Mortgage Refunds Mortgage Free for a Year competition will be run again next year, with a winner being announced before Christmas 2006.
Mr King has run the competition since 2004. He has also built his business on the basis of giving back to the people and considers his company as the "Robin Hood of Mortgage Brokers".
Mortgage Refunds offers refunds to people who have the company broker their home loans. Borrowers who use Mortgage Refunds receive up to $4000. The cash-back offer can be taken in cash, set off against their loan, or taken in the form of free flights and accommodation or household appliances.
