Press Release Body = The newest member of Red Sox Nation, a new website,
http://www.MyRedSoxNation.com is launching a petition campaign to convince Theo
Epstein and the Boston Red Sox management to work out their differences and have
Theo rejoin the organization he left just last month.
Theo is the most successful GM in Red Sox history, having lead the 2004 Boston Red
Sox to its first World Series Championship since 1918.
http://www.MyRedSoxNation.com hopes to touch Theo's heart by sending him a list of
tens of thousands of members of Red Sox Nation who want to see him return to lead
the Boston Red Sox to another World Series Championship.
Theo Epstein reportedly turned down a $1.5 million contract offer that appeared to
come too late, saying that his heart was no longer in the job.
In an interview at MLB.com, Epstein explained his departure. \"I think a lot of
things happened during the end of this negotiation that caused me to think more
closely about the situation, think about myself, think about the organization and
whether it was the right fit,\" said Epstein. \"Again, in the end, I decided that the
right thing to do was to move on.\"
\"We're hoping that we can send Theo a list of tens of thousands of fans that grows
by the thousands each week and can convince him that he is loved and needed in Red
Sox Nation,\" noted Joshua Karlin, the creator of http://www.MyRedSoxNation.com. We
will send him the list every week until he returns, takes another job, or the Red
Sox hire a permanent replacement.
http://www.MyRedSoxNation.com is a new fan website featuring up-to-date Red Sox
news, and links to Red Sox tickets, discussions, and eventually Red Sox merchandise
as well.
