At times hilarious, at times heart wrenching, the story, in the style of magic realism, follows the attempts of the central character to come to terms with the death of his estranged wife. Strangely unmoved by this event he is more concerned with the apparent disappearance of oranges from the world. His pursuit of this elusive fruit takes him back through a sadly failing relationship to reach a point where he could understand the nature of love loss and maybe oranges.
About the Author: Clive Sheldon was educated in Nottingham, England before working in diagnosis and research at the Medical Research Council in Harrow. Clive started working at a Center for the mentally handicapped, and soon found himself running a home in the London Borough of Brent catering for those with behavioural problems other homes couldn't handle. Thoroughly rewarding and thoroughly stressful, he took a brief sabbatical, travelling in Morocco - and never went home again.
Following a fascinating three months exploring the unexplored in Morocco, he returned with his partner to Spain and settled in. Working as offshore stock manager for Safeway's in Gibraltar, Clive moved into an ancient Moorish castle in the mountains. Populated by a strange combination of hippies and the rich and famous, it achieved the ultimate prestige when Philippe Gonzales (former Prime Minister of Spain) moved in as their next-door neighbour. This allowed Clive to make a fairly profitable house sale and opened up the possibility to pursue a different lifestyle. Clive is currently deep in the middle of nowhere in Spain, renovating an ancient cave house, which gives him the opportunity to write.
