Ashenfelter has worked at the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania and before that at Enron to develop an Internet/Web based e-commerce solution for the electricity marketplace. Before that he led a successful business development effort for Stoner Associates, a Carlisle firm internationally recognized for its software products and engineering services. During Governor Thornburgh\'s administration, 1979 to 1987, Ashenfelter served in a number of important positions at the Pennsylvania State Police, the Department of State, the Department of Agriculture and in the Governor\'s Office. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
