General Motors Corp. has announced \"March Madness\", a cash incentive program that
started Thursday and runs from March 16, through April 4.

The incentive program offers $500 to $1,500 in cash back on top of other incentives
for 2005 and 2006 vehicles that have been on dealer lots since Nov. 16, said company
spokeswoman Deborah Silverman. GM is offering $500 on cars and small sport utility
vehicles and $1,000 cash back on its trucks, full-sized SUVs, the Chevrolet SSR and
Cadillac models. Only the half-ton extended-cab Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra
full-sized pickups come under the $1,500 cash bonuses.

The rebates apply to all vehicles that have been in dealer inventory since Nov. 16.
In most cases, the rebate is in addition to existing incentives.

GM\'s new incentives do not include the Hummer H-1 or Saturn vehicles.

All GM divisions will participate in the program. But the Cadillac, Hummer and Saab
brands will not use the \"March Madness\" term. Cadillac dealers will call it the
\"Ultimate Reward\" program; Hummer dealers will name it \"Like Nothing Else\"; and Saab
dealers will call it \"Take Flight."
