Less Stress on the Job for Auto Mechanics

Released on = May 23, 2006, 6:52 am

Press Release Author = J. Schira

Industry = Automotive

Press Release Summary = Working on today's high tech vehicles can be demanding
enough without the added stress from tripping over or getting tangled up in the
trouble light's power cord.

Press Release Body = OTTAWA, CANADA May 18, 2006 Auto mechanics struggle with
work lights and the 3 main problems they create, a power cord to get in the way, a
fragile light bulb and a light beam that often shines back in their eyes. Maxxeon
Inc. has introduced the WorkStarT light tool technology that according to John
Schira, company spokesman, resolves these problems.

The Maxxeon WorkStarT is a cordless rechargeable work light that uses an LED
(light-emitting diode) as the light source. The work light runs for over 5 hours on
a charge and can be re-charged up to 1000 times before replacing the batteries.

The tool uses a single high output Phillips LumiledŽ LuxeonŽ LED that has a
projected life expectancy of over 50,000 hours and should never need to be replaced
for the life of the light.

Richard Hatherill, Chief Engineer for the company explains, \"the WorkStarT features
a two axis moveable light head that lets the technician focus the light exactly
where he needs it. This solves an especially aggravating problem faced by mechanics
every day, and that is, trying to repair a vehicle while their work light glares
into their eyes.\"

The work light also includes features for attaching to the car magnetically or it
can be suspended from any work area components with its self-contained, retractable
hook.

The lighting tool has been ergonomically designed to be comfortable to use for
extended periods of time. With a weight of about one pound and an overall length of
just over ten inches, the light is compact enough to be used in tight spaces such as
under the dash and in restricted areas in the engine bay and under the car.

The work light includes a \"smart\" charger that will fully charge the battery in
three hours, although
the tool operates on a partial charge, and will run when it is plugged into the
charger.
