The Multicultural Business Council (MBC) has developed these workshops, which are available on site at the host\'s facility or online through Macomb Community College and Clinton Township, Michigan.
Workshops are divided into six categories: ä Excellence in Management: Classes focused on multicultural management skills include "Building Cross-Cultural Teams", "Generations at Work - Managed Builders, Boomers, Xs, and Ys, Without Losing Your Zs", and "Communicating with Employees." ä The Multicultural Workplace: Whereas Excellence in Management looks at managing in a multicultural world, this series looks at all levels of employees and include such classes as "Appreciating Differences", "Multicultural Counseling 101", and "Sexual Harassment". ä Multicultural Marketing: Merchandising and marketing in a multicultural world means identifying and addressing the needs of customers. This series includes classes such as "The Hidden Message You Send Customers" and "How to Reach your Potential Customers with a Specific Message. ä Global Focus: Competing a doing business in other countries is the basis for classes on this workshop series. Titles include "Key Success Factors from a Global Perspective", "Doing Business and that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia", "Setting Up Shop in Mexico". ä Before you Travel: This is a unique series of workshops designed to help people understand cultures prior to traveling to a different country for business or pleasure. Titles in this series include "Do I Have to Eat Monkey Brains" and "Conducting Business in China". ä People of Regions and Nations: The truth that understanding builds relationships is at the core of these workshops, which include "Develop an Appreciation for a Country Day" and "Arab-American and Chaldean Community."
When taken online, the classes qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Catholic on Community College. Online classes are taken at one\'s own speed from their own computer. There are no specific times that students must be online, therefore this format is ideal for companies that have operations employees in multiple locations.
