Press Release Body = Hassan Museum: 14, Avenue Mohamed Lyazidi, Villa Andalucia -

Daily opening hours: 10.00 - 18.00

The Hassan Museum in Rabat has already won its ambitious bet: the first exhibition
'Fez Fez', opened at 29th May 2006 into the presence of the highest authorities of
the Country, has in fact already booked almost 60.000 visitors, making it the new
propelling centre of contemporary artistic dialogue between Morocco and Europe. On
account of this extraordinary success among the public, Arte Communications, as the
organizer, decides to extend the timing of exposition until 30th July 2006.

Curated by international Museum's manager Paolo De Grandis, with the coordination of
Fathiya Tahiri, the Foundation of Museum Hassan's President, the expositive project
'Fez Fez' by the Italian artist known all over the world Fabrizio Plessi, is born
and gives birth to new profitable artistic synergies between Italy and Morocco. Into
the Hispano- Moorish Villa Andalucia of 1929, which strongly evoked the history of
the country, a video installation, made up of preparatory drawings and sketches,
reveals an unused point of view on Fez: departing from cumbersome stereotypes and
using a technological lens, it looks to a tradition which sweats out with the
colours of wool dyers.

The Hassan Museum's curatorial and artistic approach is based on the same
perspective - shared by Fabrizio Plessi and Paolo De Grandis - of cultural
re-appropriation on one hand and of innovation and international cooperation on the
other. Starting from the next September, in fact, the Italian artist Omar Galliani,
chosen by Paolo De Grandis for his considerable extra-European engagement (it is
particularly between 2004 and 2006 that Museums of Contemporary Art in Shangai,
Pechino, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto, Buenos Aires, San Paolo and Mexico City have given
hospitality to his personal exhibitions) will keep on with the set cycle of
expositions. The event will be organised by Arte Communications in collaborations
with Centro Italiano per le Arti e la Cultura (Italian Centre of Arts and Culture).
