Press Release Body = Laguna Hills, CA - September 4, 2006 - Renowned mixed-media
artist, Lynne Perrella, invited over 50 of her favorite designers to revisit and
reinvent paper dolls for a new book Beyond Paper Dolls, published by Stampington &
Company, the publisher of Somerset Studio, a leading paper and mixed-media art
magazine.
Beyond Paper Dolls, to be released September 1, 2006, captures the limitless
possibilities of paper dolls. Some dolls are composed of paper alone, while others
incorporate mixed media, such as Opie and Linda O'Brien's tin-articulated doll or
Lynn Whipple's waxed garments. Steep back staircases, wallpaper-peeling closets,
and a carriage barn of an 1800s farm house in Columbia County, New York, set the
scenes for photography.
Several chapter headings include: Reinventing the Form, Inner Visions, Curtain Up,
In the Library, Fetishes & Spirit Dolls; and more.
"The idea behind Beyond Paper Dolls, to create a book full-to brimming of
fascinating and revelatory paper personas.was born many, many years ago - decades
ago while I sat cutting out my own handmade paper dolls." says Lynne Perrella.

Beyond Paper Dolls can be found in bookstores, at local craft stores, ordered
directly from Stampington & Company via their website at www.stampington.com, or
calling toll-free
at (877) 782-6737.
