Advanced Implant and Perio Center - Dr Rob Schroering and Dr Ken Parrish

Released on = September 15, 2006, 6:33 am

Press Release Author = Advanced Implant and Perio Center

Industry = Small Business

Press Release Summary = For Michelle Nunley there's nothing more worthwhile than
putting a smile on the face of someone in need. The Louisville resident is a
volunteer for Meals on Wheels and has helped victims of hurricane Katrina through
her association with the Red Cross.

Press Release Body = On the Forefront of Something New

Today she has something to smile about herself. Nunley, who struggled with dentures,
is on the forefront of a breakthrough concept that promises to result in millions of
Americans trading their dentures for beautiful, permanent teeth - all done in a day
or less. The procedure can also be an attractive alternative to partial dentures and
bridges.

Nunley was one of the first patients at the Advanced Implant & Perio Center of
Louisville to benefit from new dental procedures called "Teeth in-an Hour," and
"All-on-4". Both techniques use 21st century advances to revolutionize the use of
dental implants to replace missing teeth. (Introduced some 50 years ago, implants
are artificial roots that are inserted into the jaw to hold prosthetic teeth.)

The results are a beautifully-restored smile - all completed in the time it takes to
order and enjoy lunch, or less than a day. Conventional methods may take up to nine
months and two surgeries to complete and dentures can take months to finish.

The active grandmother can now speak with confidence, eating whatever she wants
without pain and doing things others take for granted, noted Dr. Ken Parrish,
D.M.D., the dentist at Advanced Implant & Perio who performed Teeth-in-an-Hour on
Nunley.

Nunley underwent a 21st century makeover that\'s sure to capture the interest of
large audiences across Kentuckiana. New attached teeth are giving her a new
outlook, allowing her smile and self confidence to emerge as she is freed from the
limitations imposed by dentures. She no longer has to fear social settings and the
risk of dentures coming out. She can eat whatever she wants.carrots, apples, all
the healthy foods that were impossible to eat with dentures. She knows that her new
implants will stimulate and strengthen her bone, preventing any further
deterioration and associated facial changes.

New software and scanning technology at Advanced Implant & Perio Center are keys to
"Teeth-in-an-Hour\'s dramatic reduction in treatment time. Three-dimensional scans
allow dentists to make proper insertions of the implant without cutting away the
gum, as with standard implants. It only takes minutes to select the correct-size
implants and fashion the prosthetic teeth.

While Teeth-in-an-Hour allows placement of implants and delivery of teeth in one
hour, many people are choosing another option, All-on-4. The All-on-4 technique
allows delivery of teeth in less than one day at about half the cost of
Teeth-in-an-Hour. The All-on-4 was developed for implant placement to avoid
anatomic structures eliminating the need for complicated and expensive bone
grafting.

About us

The Advanced Implant Center opened its doors in 1993. The office was conceived by
Dr. Robert Schroering. He had seen patients who suffered with dentures and removable
partial dentures. These patients were embarrassed and unhappy. He had been placing
dental implants for three years to help these patients and felt that a more
specialized approach should be taken for such a specific field of dentistry.
