Founder, Joy Pfister, a Licenced Health Care Professional, former Mrs Virginia, wife and mother has always had a flair for fashion, design, and the arts. When Joy began working with patients, she was touched by several stories of skin cancer survival. One of her best friends had also survived skin cancer. "The statistics are staggering\". According to the SKF One person a minute is diagnosed with Skin Cancer. \"This is a preventable disease, but the most highly diagnosed.\"
After learning about new age UV protective swimwear through a friend two years ago, Joy began buying the UV protection swimwear for her children. Wishing to join her kids in the fight against burns and melanoma, Joy searched for something fun and sexy but also UV protective to wear at the beach, by the pool, gardening in the sun, and playing outside with her children. Joy found only limited plain UV shirts and basic UV shorts, nothing really fitting for a fashionable lady. At that point, Joy began toying with the idea of designing and manufacturing a sophisticated, signature series of glamorous UV protective Swim and Beach wear. After almost a year of researching, data collecting, and emailing industry professionals, Joy received an email from a top UV swimwear developer. Joy and her partner Joyce, were finally able to begin what they had been working so long and hard for. Kristy J began to take form with a team of ladies that are experts in UV fabrics and ladies swimwear development.
No detail is overlooked and all of the suits are made to fit today\'s women. Each piece is designed with top notch details, including a functional and slimming fit, optional embroidery, and hand picked inlaid designs on several of the garments. The suits are also designed, and manufactured in the USA.
