Joe a musician/writer/activist and Mordor expatriate, explains from the moment of my emigration to New Zealand I began to perceive the Tolkeinesque analogies between my previous and adopted lands. I, and my partner, similarly affected, and similarly well-travelled, saw that this was an actual sample of the Shire. Nearly two decades prior to Peter Jackson's now classic production of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, we fantasized that this was the ideal setting for such a venture - the perfect place to bring a visual interpretation to a wider audience.
