Diabetes, one of the most prevalent of human disorders, is taking epidemic
proportion all over the world. It is believed that by 2015 India will be the world
leader in this devastating epidemic. Our Country already has nearly 33 million
people suffering from diabetes and it is estimated that larger number may also be on
the verge of developing diabetes, a condition called pre-diabetic. The increased
incidence of obesity has been the key factor in development of Diabetes, High Blood
Pressure, High Cholesterol etc. The advent of junk food has led to significant
increase in childhood obesity and as a result there is increased incidence of
diabetes in children.

A diabetic patient in his lifetime may suffer from multiple complications pertaining
to various organs of our body including Eye, Heart, Brain, Nerves and Kidneys. The
cost of diabetes care is prohibitive for the common man. Since it is a multi system
disorder, Diabetes causes damage to most of the human organs/systems.

Speaking at the launch of DIABETES PLATINUM CLUB, Dr Deepak Kaura, CEO, Oxford
Hospital, said, "At Oxford we understand the plight of a Diabetic Patient. A
diabetic patient faces multiple complications, requires regular visits to the
doctor, frequent lab tests and may have to undergo other medical procedures. Cost
becomes a major factor for the common man. It is our endeavor to provide a life long
solution for them via the DIABETES PLATINUM CLUB. Hence, our aim to provide
comprehensive and cost effective care to the patients by the specialists working
under one roof, has been the reason of setting up of DPC."

Patients registered with the DPC will avail 50% concession on any Diabetes related
medical requirements during their lifetime including Outdoor Consultations, Indoor
Admissions, Laboratory Investigations, Operations / Surgery of any kind, Special
tests including Angiography, Angioplasty, Dialysis etc. However, cost of Drugs and
