World`s first dot mobi conceptual artwork launched

Released on = October 18, 2006, 9:07 am

Press Release Author = wanna.mobi

Industry = Internet & Online

Press Release Summary = Artists launch wanna.mobi the world\'s first conceptual
artwork for the mobile internet

UK, 18 October 06

Press Release Body =

UK Contemporary artists have started a new ongoing conceptual artwork at
www.wanna.mobi . 'The whole mobile internet is brand new and very exciting,' said
artist Jonathan Powell. 'We are utilising it in a way never seen before to both help
people and discover an insight into the problems and needs of everyday life.'

The artwork wanna.mobi is accessible through mobile phones and allows people to ask
any question and get a reply sent back to their phone. Participants are able to get
useful information whilst the artists gain insight into everyday needs and
expectations, as well as discovering what people do not know and what they want to
find out.

'We will answer all the questions we can as quickly as we can, giving people out on
the streets answers to questions they have as they walk along. If they are on the
bus they can access our artwork and we think that is amazing!'

Jonathan continued, 'We want to make art relevant and accessible to all. As this
work can be accessed from mobile phones we think that this is an ideal way to
interact with people. This artwork is also useful, which will bring it to the
attention of people who would not normally visit an art gallery.

Curators and art galleries from around the world interested in having an exhibition
based on the questions and answers from the wanna.mobi artwork are invited to get in
touch at info@wanna.mobi . 'We are interested in delving deeper into the everyday
and examining the needs, worries and neuroses of the so-called normal. With this
artwork we have found a way to position art right at the forefront of people's
everyday lives. The mobile internet is a huge new vista opening up to interact with
people in a new and completely accessible way. We are very excited about the
future!'

Wanna.mobi is a new conceptual artwork for the new mobile internet.
