This French photographer who is currently based in Los Angeles and for the last 15 years worked in the movie industry has posted 11 of his thought provoking images on the www.pissedpoetpics.com web site.
Bali learned the art of making fine art black & white photographic prints under the tutelage of William Klein in the 1980's pinting the master's Tokyo and New York images.
Bali's own work, in contrast to Klein's, is saturated with colour. Although the master's influence can be seen, the 15 years in Hollywood predominates. Reworking iconic images from the golden days of film, Bali infuses them with a sensuous new life making them as fresh as a morning edition of the LA Times.
With a doctorate in philosophy based on the image as language, Bali's images are not just pretty pictures. They have powerful statements to make and stories to tell.
"It is an honour to have them on the site," said pissedpoet pics owner Henry Bateman. "Great photography, like art, should be shared, which is why I have guest galleries on my site, and Alain's images in his "Power Play" gallery are a very welcome addition," he added.
