They are malnourished, have little to no education, lack good hygiene, and face survival rates that have many dying before they reach their twenties. Numerous governments, already struggling financially, lack the ability to care for orphans. Many orphanages release children at the age of 15, leaving them to survive on their own. In post-communist countries, statistics reveal that over 60% of teens turn to crime or prostitution to survive, because they have no real life skills, education, hope or outside help.
