There\'s no grander way to learn and study than in Australia.

No doubt, besides the excellent job opportunities and easy living conditions in the
Land Down Under, another major reason why people migrate to Australia is its premier
educational system. Australia may not have universities as prestigious as Harvard
or MIT in the United States or Oxford or Cambridge in the UK, but the quality of
education it offers is undeniably top-notch compared to most Western Universities.

Australia consistently ranks among the top ten countries with the most effective
educational system in the world, just slightly behind South Korea and Japan. In
fact, the Australian educational system ranks way ahead that of the United States.

Study in Australia
In Australia, students attend high school for six years, after which they will
enroll in a "uni" which is short for university. Fees in Australian universities,
with the exception of Bond University, are shouldered by the government. Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents and citizens of New Zealand students enjoy
significantly reduced tuition fees, or they may opt to defer payment and just pay it
back later through their income tax.
Australian undergraduate programs are usually three years in length. Postgraduate
studies are either coursework or research. Coursework degrees are generally at the
Masters level and do not proceed into a research degree. Research degrees, on the
other hand, are at the Masters and Doctoral level. Unlike in other countries\', you
can enroll in a PhD (for 3 years) immediately after the final year of undergraduate
program, even without getting a Masters degree first.

For migrants who want to study in Australia, there are five basic Australian student
visas they can avail of, depending on individual circumstances. In this case,
getting an Australian tourist visa is not enough, even if they plan to stay in the
country for just a short period.
Whether one intends to take a vocational or training education, or a Bachelor's
degree, a Master's or even Doctorate, there is an appropriate Australian visa for
that. Under the Skilled Overseas Student (Subclasses 880, 881 and 882) Visa, for
instance, one may complete a course of study in Australia and then apply onshore for
an Australian Permanent Residency under the Skilled Migration Program.
