Avoiding the Timeshare Blues

Released on = January 8, 2007, 2:18 pm

Press Release Author = 10 Reasons to Purchase (or Not to Purchase) a Timeshare

Industry = Real Estate

Press Release Summary = Much of the negative press generated about vacation
ownership is being written by people who have never experienced a timeshare
vacation, or who assume that most resorts still employ the same heavy-handed sales
tactics as in the past. So says vacation consultant Lisa Ann Schreier in her latest
article . . . .

Press Release Body = Seattle, WA--Much of the negative press generated about
vacation ownership is being written by people who have never experienced a timeshare
vacation, or who assume that most resorts still employ the same heavy-handed sales
tactics as in the past. So says vacation consultant Lisa Ann Schreier in her latest
article, "10 Reasons to Buy a Timeshare . . . Really!"

Ms. Schreier, author of Timeshare Vacations For Dummies, and Surviving A Timeshare
Presentation: Confessions From The Sales Table, provides a refreshingly
straightforward look at the best reasons to purchase (or not to purchase) a
timeshare, and addresses common misconceptions vacationers have about timesharing.

"As someone who spent more than six years selling timeshare the traditional way,"
said Schreier, "I saw many cases where people purchased a timeshare based on
incorrect information, or worse yet, the emotions of being caught up in a 'beautiful
resort.'

"It is true that there are some consumers for whom timeshare is not the way to go,
and by getting this information, they will be able to save themselves from making a
potentially pricey mistake."

Intended to give consumers the unbiased information they need before heading out
into the marketplace, the article lists ten criteria vacationers should keep in mind
when considering whether or not timeshare makes sense for them.

"Many people who would greatly benefit from owning a timeshare are apprehensive at
best about the product because of the dearth of unbiased information," Schreier
said. "What I'm hoping to do is provide consumers with an information resource in
much the same way a real estate agent provides buyers with consultation when they're
looking at purchasing a house."
