Press Release Body = Academy Award-winning animation producer/director Will Vinton's
personal art collection, "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," is on exhibition in the
Mark K. Wheeler Gallery at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, February 28 - March
31. His collection is a celebration of the art and artistry that goes into
designing animated characters. The purpose of this exhibit is to honor the many
regional artists who have contributed to many of Vinton's animated productions.

Vinton is known for introducing several new brands of animation to audiences across
the globe by launching the careers of the California Raisins, the Noid, Dinosaurs
"Herb & Rex," M&M's "Red & Yellow" and The PJs' Thurgood Stubbs. Winner of Oscar,
Emmy, and Clio awards, Vinton continues to break new ground in computer character
animation, Claymation, Stop-motion, and flash animation.

The exhibit consists of mostly 2D framed pieces that show work in progress which are
of interest to The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale students majoring in Animation,
Game Art & Design, and Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. Vinton's animation
art collection show features some well-known art, but the essence of this exciting
exhibit focuses on educating visitors about the precise, demanding, and involved
process of creating animation art and design.

Winner of Oscar, Emmy, and Clio awards, Vinton continues to break new ground in
computer character animation, Claymation, Stop-motion, and flash animation. Under
his new banner, "Freewill Entertainment," he has produced and directed a new live
action/ computer-generated (CG) animation hybrid movie called "The Morning After,"
which recently won the Bronze Remi Award at World fest in Houston, Texas. He has
also recently ventured into new and exciting territory with the recent release of
"Jack Hightower," a 110-page graphic novel with Dark Horse Comics.
