At-Home Tax Preparation Made Easy - Bargain Web site offers one-stop access to five tax preparation programs

Released on = February 13, 2007, 11:50 am

Press Release Summary = Shoppers can compare the offerings of five different tax
packages in just one visit to DealTaker.com, a Web site providing consumers with tax
preparation promo codes, exclusive coupons for members and other special offer
links.

Press Release Body = PLANO, TX -- Some people stick with the same tax preparation
program for filing their taxes every year, while others shop around at tax time to
learn which program offers the best new features. Shoppers can compare the offerings
of five different tax packages in just one visit to DealTaker.com, a Web site
providing consumers with tax preparation promo codes, exclusive coupons for members
and other special offer links.

"This time of year, everyone is scouring the Internet for promo codes and such to
save the most money when doing their taxes themselves. At DealTaker.com, we have
links to five of the top tax programs along with promo codes and exclusive coupons
for our members. People can compare them in a one-stop-shopping experience without
having to go to five different Web sites or examine five different software packages
in a store. Membership at our site is free," said Neal Rapoport, president of
DealTaker.com.

DealTaker.com is a bargain hunting Web-based community of close to 80,000 members
who post deals, free offers and coupons they find online. The Web site has forum
moderators who verify and post deals as well. Membership on the site is free, as is
use of coupons and promo codes, unlike shopping clubs that charge an annual fee.

"Instead of charging for memberships, we stay in business by our affiliate stores
paying us a commission on consumer purchases made through our site. And it doesn't
cost our members anything extra," Rapoport said.

About 1,500 businesses like those producing the tax preparation programs have posted
special bargains, often exclusive to DealTaker.com members, through links from this
Web site.

The tax packages accessible through DealTaker.com are:
. Turbo Tax
. TaxCut
. TaxNet
. TaxBrain
. Complete Tax

Turbo Tax is the best-selling of those offered. TaxCut, a product from H&R Block,
offers several coupons for reduced software prices and online filing for customers
choosing this program through DealTaker.com. TaxBrain offers Web site members an
exclusive dollars-off coupon while TaxNet offers free online preparation and filing.
A free electronic filing code is available through the Web site for Complete Tax.

"Most of our tax preparation promo codes are embedded-link coupons, so the price is
reflected when it is calculated on the tax Web site accessed through our links. No
actual promo code is needed. Regardless of which tax preparation package shoppers
wind up using," Rapoport said, "selecting the right one is so much simpler when
going through our site because you can easily click between then to compare. Plus,
you have immediate access to cost-saving coupons."

DealTaker.com donates a portion of their affiliate commissions to breast cancer
research. The Web site is based in Plano, a suburb of Dallas, Texas.

About the Founder
Neal Rapoport grew up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado, but went to college in
Arizona ("because it was warm," he says). He graduated from the University of
Arizona in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Communications. His ultimate goal was to
be a game show host for shows such as Double Dare or Family Feud. Seeing that those
types of jobs were few and far between, Neal decided that computers provided a more
logical and stable career path. After working for companies such as Microsoft and
CompuCom, and spending several years consulting, Neal started DealTaker.com as a
hobby in February 2004.
Neal\'s wife, Abbey, was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2004, and in January
2005, Neal decided to stay home to help care for their three small children during
his wife\'s completion of chemotherapy treatments. During that time, he worked hard
to promote DealTaker.com and make it into a business rather than a hobby. By April
2005, the company was successful enough that a return to consulting was unnecessary.
Since then, DealTaker.com has continued to grow, thanks to faithful and diligent
bargain hunters who share their great "finds" and the moderators who keep it all
running smoothly.
