Apparently, I am a little hard headed... and she felt that was the only way. The next year of my life took me on a journey that I could only handle perhaps 2-3 pages at a time. No, I am not a slow reader. What I was reading is what has always been in my heart, but had such incredible conflict to what I had been brought up with, I fought my heart and mind war inside myself like no other battle. After taking a year to read about Neale\'s experience, and think about the implications of how on earth ANYONE could possibly have a happy, positive relationship with God... well, waged against that vs. nothing but anger, I took the high road and decided that I prefer a God of Love, vs. a god of Hate... a God of Hope, and not a God of Fear... a God of abundance, and not a God of Jealousy. Over time, I engaged in a local Conversations With God group, to discover that I was very much, not alone.
In fact, it wasn\'t even special that I had such a void in my life. The thought that I could both love and be loved by God, exactly how I am, and learn that the more I learned to love the gifts that God had given me specifically to impact the world, my life was and has changed for ever. For anyone who has nothing in their heart because of religious bull shit, I would highly recommend that you don\'t wait to have the writings of Neale Donald Walsh, thrown at your head... Go grab it now, because somewhere inside of you... what you always wished for, what you always wanted to believe, but was never taught about having a REAL relationship with God, waits for you... and once you tear down the religious foundation of fundamentalist BS you were spoon fed, by no choice of your own, you will find out that God is more than real... more than loving, more than caring... that there is nothing you have done that is not forgivable, except that which you cannot forgive yourself for... and that once you open that door to find your own peace, peace will open every other door for you.
