Mercury Institute`s Event Proves Value of Good Human Relationships - Organization`s First Public AffAIR Draws Food, Art and Music from Around the World

Press Release Summary = A description of the Mercury Institute\'s successful event in
San Francisco with Institute purpose and a few details about the gathering.

Press Release Body = The Mercury Institute held a cross-cultural event at Fort Mason
in San Francisco recently. The casual gathering offered the opportunity for people
to meet and talk leisurely. Everyone received a door prize.

Executive Director Machiko Conway said that the purpose of the Mercury Institute was
to help people in other countries to help themselves through education and
communication. She wanted the event to to alert the public to the international
work that the organization does.

In the past the Mercury Institiute gave aid to Tibetan refugees in India. It
provided entrepreneurial training and health education improving the lives of more
than 35,000 women and girls in Saratov, Russia. The organization provided computers
and business education in Ukraine. Uganda is also on the list of countries served by
the international education group.

Manar Azrik enchanted the crowd with singing and drumming. A recent arrival from
the Holy Land, she underscored the possibility of sharing and cooperation in the
Middle East\'s crisis. With a Palestinian / Israeli and Christian background, Manar
embodies the worth and value of each of the traditions.

Pat assercion decorated the room with Japanese flower arrangements. Isa Conway made
sushi and Lessia Jarboe brought food from her native Ukraine.
