Policosanol has shown to promote Cardiovascular Health!

Released on = February 7, 2007, 1:08 pm

Press Release Author = Dr. Mitchell Matez

Industry = Healthcare

Press Release Summary = Living a long, happy and healthy life is a choice.and it's
the right choice! It's a choice we make by eating right, getting plenty of exercise
and through supplementation with powerful herbs, vitamins and minerals. I'm a big
proponent of using nutritional supplements to help maintain my own health, vitality
and longevity. I take them every day and I strongly recommend them to my patients as
well. This month, I want to discuss about your heart health.

Press Release Body = In over 50 clinical studies, Policosanol has been shown to
promote cardiovascular health by supporting HDL, the good cholesterol, and keeping
LDL, the bad cholesterol, in check. Research indicates that Policosanol has an
antioxidant effect and may help control the liver\'s production and breakdown of
cholesterol.

HDL cholesterol is known as the good cholesterol because having a high quantity of
it in your bloodstream seems to protect against heart disease. Scientists and
doctors believe that the HDL cholesterol tends to carry excess plaque and other
substances away from the arteries so that it can be disposed of by the body.

When there's too much LDL, bad cholesterol, in the bloodstream, it can slowly build
up in the walls of the arteries that feed the heart. The buildup can form plaque, a
thick, hard deposit that can clog arteries. If a clot forms and blocks an artery, it
can cause serious, even life threatening, health issues.

Triglycerides are a form of fat. They come from food and they also are made by your
body. People with high triglyceride levels often have a high LDL cholesterol level
and a low HDL cholesterol level. High Triglyceride levels are often linked to heart
disease.

You should be checking all three of these levels with your doctor regularly to make
sure your heart health isn't at risk. You can also discuss the beneficial effects of
supplementation with Policosanol with your doctor.

Yours in good health,

Dr. Mitchell Matez
