Based on the requests of its clients, MediaKey decided to implement a mobile billing option in addition to traditional credit card payments. The company believes that SMS billing is just catching on in the U.S., so it's slowly becoming a convenient payment option for companies looking for an efficient on-the-go payment solution.
"SMS billing has been around for a number of years in Europe and continues to be hugely successful," Michael Whelan, director of txtNation, said. "In our experience it's a lot easier to convince surfers to use their cell phones to pay for content than their credit cards.
