Florida Teens Compete for Culinary Scholarship

scholarship dollars for a lucky teen

Press Release Body = March 12, 2007 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- The Art Institute of
Fort Lauderdale announces the five semi-finalists high school teens to compete in
The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Culinary Scholarship Competition. Congratulations
to the following Florida students Sarina Riley, of Oakland Park; Travis Boles, of
Naples; Micah Tucker, of Boca Raton; Maria Lowenthal, of Weston, and Jodi-Lee
Morrison of Lauderhill.

The five semi-finalists will compete in the local cook-off in competition on
Saturday, March 17, at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, 1650 SE 17 Street, Ft.
Lauderdale, to demonstrate their skills in the kitchen and best recipes. The
finalist will be chosen at the end on the day and the winner will have the chance to
compete for an Art Institute full tuition scholarship to pursue a two-year
associate's degree in the Culinary Arts program at the National Best Teen Chef
Competition held at The Art Institute of Dallas on May 5.

Sponsored by The Art Institutes, the Best Teen Chef 2007 competition will award one
lucky high school senior a full tuition scholarship worth approximately $35,000 to
study culinary arts at The Art Institutes plus the prestigious title Best Teen Chef.
Student competitors are judged by a panel of professional chefs and Master Chef
faculty from The Art Institutes. In all, more than $200,000 in scholarships will be
awarded.

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Culinary Arts program was established in 1992
training and educating students to grow and flourish in today's food service
industry. They are surrounded by established culinary artists in a setting that
encourages and supports professional creative endeavors.
