Publicity firm joins fight against Lou Gehrig`s disease

Released on = March 21, 2007, 10:43 am

Press Release Author = Bisson Barcelona

Industry = Marketing

Press Release Summary = Bisson Barcelona, a Barrington, NH, public relations firm,
has been contracted for the fifth year to help with the annual ALS Therapy Alliance
campaign, which raises money for Lou Gehrig\'s disease research.

Press Release Body = BARRINGTON, N.H. - The ALS Therapy Alliance, a research group
dedicated to developing effective therapies for a disorder that is best known as Lou
Gehrig's disease, is again partnering with local public relations firm Bisson
Barcelona.

"Bisson Barcelona has been instrumental in the implementation of the campaign," said
Alan Abraham, director of the ALS Therapy Alliance. "This fund-raising effort has
been a massive undertaking and we would not have the support of CVS/pharmacy if it
wasn't for their team's leadership, direction and enthusiasm for the project. There
is a definite chemistry."

The ALS Therapy Alliance was founded in 2000 to provide a vehicle for a diverse
group of scientists and clinicians to share and coordinate studies related to
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. While little is known about the cause of or
possible treatments for ALS, the disease, which affects the nervous system and
eventually leads to muscle deterioration, it is best recognized for its affect on
Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig.

For the last six years, the ALS Therapy Alliance has united with CVS/pharmacy in a
fund-raising campaign to enhance and enable ALS research. By asking CVS/pharmacy
customers for a donation, the partnership has raised nearly $8 million thus far. The
ALS Therapy Alliance has been structured to ensure that 100 percent of the proceeds
generated by this endeavor are committed to ALS studies.

Bisson Barcelona, a Barrington, N.H., publicity firm that focuses on image
management and media placement, has worked with this team of professionals since the
second year of the campaign's implementation. In this capacity, the publicity
company writes promotional materials and press releases, facilitates the design and
creation of public relations information and implements the overall campaign.
