Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is a wireless technology that is being used for tracking and identification. It gives capability to every object to be networked, to be identified whenever required without the need of line of sight. RFID is touted as the next generation technology out competing barcode and EAS system in terms of benefits.
“We partnered with Orizin to help better our understanding of the stock movement and in the bargain integrate security so as to ensure better control over the retail business. The daily reports generated together with improved and easy stock taking renders a complete solution. Going forward we expect greater efficiency in stocking maintenance and intelligent management of the same”, said Neeta Rajendran, CEO, Sakhi.
“Orizin RFID system would facilitate billing of hundreds of items in few minutes without any manual intervention, and stock taking of thousands of items is possible every day. The company Gate system at Sakhi would strengthen the security system which is much compact than contemporary EAS gates, giving higher aesthetic value”, said Prashant Agrawal, Managing Director, Orizin. Using RFID in retail helps in more efficient tracking of materials, including easier and faster inventory-stock verification, Point of Sales, Supply chain management and managing customers also. “We feel a growing RFID application in retail as it gets more organized from 3% today to 20% in couple of years”, added Prashant.
