production is for the domestic market but it sees its future growth in selling its
own brands abroad.

Bosideng is the largest manufacturer of down clothing in China and its two leading
brands have captured 25% of the domestic market. It has 10,000 employees and turns
out 5 mn pieces a year. Although it primarily produces for the domestic market, the
company's exports reached US$40 mn in 2003 and it is hoping to expand them further.
